Nowadays, all kinds of strange phone calls and spam messages are constantly harassed. Often, after phone calls and identity information are left to one institution, people from other institutions will call you the next day. A few days ago, a survey conducted by the Social Investigation Center of China Youth Newspaper on 2006 respondents showed that 79.0% of the respondents felt that their personal information had been leaked, and the respondents were most worried about the disclosure of basic identity information (60.9%), home address (59.1%) and contact information (53.7%). To crack down on the disclosure of personal information, 69.3% of the respondents suggested strengthening the construction of Internet information security.
Among the respondents, 1.2% were born after 00, 21.6% after 90, 52.2% after 80, 18.2% after 70, 5.3% after 60 and 1.4% after 50.
Respondents are most worried about the disclosure of basic identity information, home address and contact information.
"Personal information disclosure is too common. I can always receive several harassing calls a week. Spam messages fill my inbox. The mailbox is full of all kinds of invoicing and loan sales information. It is not surprising, but it is helpless." Yan Tao, a post-80s generation working in a research institute, said.
In daily life, 79.0% of the respondents feel that their personal information has been leaked, 8.2% of the respondents don’t feel it, and 12.8% of the respondents can’t say it.
Xu Yu, a senior student in a university in Beijing, pays great attention to information security in her life. She never connects to public WiFi or scans QR codes at will. "But I still can’t avoid information leakage, and I always get a lot of harassing calls."
Under what circumstances is personal information easy to be leaked? Respondents pointed out that scanning the QR code of merchants (56.9%), installing unknown software and filling in personal information registration (55.2%) and filling in various social information collection forms (52.3%) are the three situations that are most likely to reveal personal information. Others include: connecting to public free WiFi(49.4%), losing important personal documents (45.1%) and discarding information sheets with personal information at will (30.2%).
After 90, Zhang Saisai felt that many elderly people did not have a good awareness of personal information disclosure. "What impressed me more was that once, a merchant scanned the QR code to give eggs in the supermarket. One of my relatives received all kinds of harassing calls the day after scanning the code to participate in the activity. Since then, my old man has never dared to scan the code casually. "
For the disclosure of personal information, 70.9% of the respondents think that they have strong awareness of prevention and vigilance; 27.4% of the respondents thought it was average and slightly numb; 1.7% of the respondents think they don’t have the awareness of prevention and vigilance.
"Although most people have a strong sense of prevention, privacy will still be leaked unconsciously. What I am most afraid of is that the basic identity information is leaked. They can use this information, ‘ Help ’ You apply for all kinds of membership cards and register strange websites. Followed by the home address, this is very private information, but it was easily exposed by some websites. " Yan Tao said.
Xu Yu is most worried about the disclosure of financial information and personal photos. "It is hard to imagine what criminals will do with your financial information. It is possible that there are several credit cards in your name, or your photos may be put on dating websites."
In the survey, respondents were most worried about the disclosure of basic identity information (60.9%), home address (59.1%) and contact information (53.7%), and others included financial information (48.8%), work unit (41.0%), personal photos (39.1%) and personal itinerary (19.6%).
59.4% of the respondents suggested erasing the personal information in the courier documents when discarding the courier package.
In the survey, 63.4% of the respondents believe that the main reason for the serious leakage of personal information is that the information holder sells personal information, 60.0% of the respondents attribute it to the lagging construction of Internet information security, 47.5% of the respondents think that the personal awareness of prevention is insufficient, 45.9% of the respondents point out that the information supervision mechanism is not perfect, 41.7% of the respondents think that the fraudsters are superb, and 36.2% of the respondents think that the protection of personal information is related.
Yan Tao believes that the main reason for personal information disclosure is that information is used by illegal companies, which leads to imperfect information protection.
Li Yu, the head of the construction department of a branch of China Telecom Group, thinks that the user information is seriously leaked, because of the following reasons: First, people are not aware of prevention, so they just connect to public WiFi, scan the QR code of merchants to get small gifts, or apply for membership cards at will, and fill in their phone numbers and identity information. Secondly, the means of fraud gangs are constantly being refurbished, and many places have formed groups to commit crimes, which are interlocking, making it impossible for victims to prevent them. Third, at present, the supervision is not perfect enough, and it is not enough to rely solely on the strict control of the company, but also needs the linkage of multiple departments.
So, how to protect personal information security in daily life? According to the survey, 59.4% of the respondents suggested that the personal information in the courier documents should be erased when discarding the courier package, 58.6% suggested that no payment transaction should be made when connecting to public WiFi, 54.0% would try to be vague when filling in personal address and other information, 49.4% would set a more secure password, 46.6% suggested that social software should not add strangers at will, and 33.2%.
"Most of the current information leaks originate from the network", Li Yu believes that the correct use of the network can better safeguard their information security. "For example, they don’t download unsafe software at will, don’t connect to public WiFi at will, and don’t trust all kinds of irregular QR codes. Here, it is especially necessary to remind friends who have old people at home not to let the old people fall into the trap of the merchants and come clean about their family information. In addition, we should pay attention to beware of fraud gangs, be calm when things happen, protect financial information, call the police in time, and communicate with family members more. "
Yan Tao believes that first of all, we should have a sense of prevention and not give criminals an opportunity. In addition, he feels that it is necessary to strengthen information supervision and further improve the legislation related to information protection.
The survey also found that 69.3% of the respondents suggested to strengthen the construction of Internet information security, 64.7% suggested to improve the legislation related to information protection, 59.5% suggested that the state should strengthen information supervision and supervision, 51.7% suggested to improve the construction of information supervision institutions, and 34.1% suggested to carry out safety publicity and education to prevent information leakage.
"Many businesses will sell customer information to fraud gangs to meet their needs, and we receive many reports and complaints every year." Li Yu said that it is necessary to increase the crackdown on fraud gangs and the management of enterprises, and strengthen departmental linkage. Only when multiple departments join hands can we get twice the result with half the effort in cracking down on the disclosure of personal information.
