Changchun, Changchun, December 18 (Reporter Liu Yuanyuan) According to the Voice of China, "Chaoguang News" reported that the footprints of wild Amur tigers and Amur leopards have been discovered in Changbai Mountain area of Jilin Province recently, and a far-infrared monitoring camera even successfully photographed the tiger.
According to reports, these Siberian tigers and leopards were found in the south of Laoyeling branch of Changbai Mountain in Jilin Province, belonging to two forest farms in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. In Xinkai Forest Farm, at 6: 19 pm on December 10th, three photos of tigers were taken, one full-length and two half-length.
As you can see from the photo, a huge and strong tiger is bowing its head in the snow at night. Experts confirmed that this is an adult wild Siberian tiger. In another forest farm, on December 13th and 14th, there were traces of animals walking and lying on their nests. The animal footprint on the scene is 24 cm long and 18 cm wide, and the length of the nest on the snow is about 1.9 meters. Experts initially determined that this may be a young Siberian tiger or an adult Siberian leopard.
It is reported that the two forest areas where the discovery site is located are adjacent to two existing national nature reserves in Jilin Province and Heilongjiang Province respectively. Experts say that this is a potential settlement where the expanded breeding population of the Northeast Tiger is looking for a new home, and it is also a key ecological corridor for the Northeast Tiger from Russia to spread to the hinterland of Changbai Mountain along the border between Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces. Therefore, it is in a very important position in the habitat optimization and integration of Amur tiger in Changbai Mountain area of China. Since 2012, there have been many incidents in which female Siberian tiger dung, Siberian tiger footprints and Siberian tigers and leopards attacked cattle, sheep, horses and other livestock. It can be said that the frequent appearance of the Northeast Tiger reflects that the ecological protection in Changbai Mountain has been fruitful since the establishment of Jilin Province for 20 years, and various wild animal populations have been restored, which has provided a strong guarantee for the habitat of the Northeast Tiger and the Northeast Leopard, the first-class protected animals in the country.
